Corrine: A study in Colour

I discovered an old James Bond Moonraker novel from the 1960s tucked away in a forgotten stack of books. Its sepia-toned pages were fragile, worn, and quietly beautiful—too full of history to discard. They seemed to ask for another life.

I used fragments of those pages as collage in the background, letting the original text sit beneath the paint. Corrine developed over this base—strong and beautiful. The combination of aged paper and bold colour adds depth without taking over the piece.

Part of my ongoing series of expressive, colourful women on canvas this work reflects my interest in layering both material and feeling into each piece.

It will give you the freedom to frame it to your liking.
